The last hero introduced in Overwatch 2, Ramattra, was essentially an opposite version of Zenyatta, and now Blizzard has revealed their incoming hero for the next season who is essentially the anti-Symmetra.
Check out the reveal for Lifeweaver:
Overwatch 2’s latest support Hero is Lifeweaver, an intelligent and curious adventurer who plans to use his biolight technology to make the world a better place.
Lifeweaver is a healer in the game, who uses an altered version of Symmetra’s Hard-light into something that the world has coined as Bio-light. With Bio-light, Lifeweaver can heal allies, and make constructs in the game including raising platforms and his ultimate which is a giant tree that can heal and protect allies.
I guess what’s fun about Lifeweaver is that he also has the ability to ‘save’ his teammates by pulling them toward him in a protective bubble. He can even reposition players who have missed their ultimates and have them in more optimal spots for maximum damage.
Here’s the in-depth breakdown from the Overwatch 2 team:
The conception of the character is actually pretty interesting, and I like the idea that he’s kind of a morally good Symmetra—a character who was always translated as cold and judgemental. With Lifeweaver’s history with the Vishkar Corporation, it’s going to be interesting to see just how he reacts to Symmetra when the two find each other in the battlefield.
Lifeweaver debuts in Season 4 of Overwatch 2 which launches on April 11. OW2 is now playable for PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4|5, and the Nintendo Switch.
